July 1st,With the theme of “Smart Connected Star City, Empowering with New Quality 2024 (4th edition) low-speed autonomous driving Scene Ecological Co construction and Expansion Conference Grandly held in Changsha,Our company was invited to attend and deliver a keynote speech.

 

 

This conference is guided by the People’s Government of Changsha City, hosted by the Management Committee of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area, and organized by the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Changsha City, the Science and Technology Innovation and Industry Promotion Association of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area, and the Low Speed Autonomous Driving Industry Alliance.

Tan Yong, Deputy Secretary of Changsha Municipal Party Committee

 

The conference was first addressed by Tan Yong, Deputy Secretary of the Changsha Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area (Changsha High tech Zone), and Secretary of the Yuelu District Committee. Tan Yong pointed out that as the earliest city in China to deploy low-speed autonomous driving technology, Changsha has formed the first mover advantage and solid foundation of the widest application of intelligent connected vehicle scenarios, the most comprehensive support system, and the best industrial ecology. It is the first batch of pilot cities for the coordinated development of national smart city infrastructure and intelligent connected vehicles. We hope that industry experts and elites will come to Changsha and Xiangjiang New Area for exchange, cooperation, scientific research, investment and development, and promote the establishment of a more complete and advanced autonomous driving industry ecosystem.

Subsequently, Peng Tao, a member of the Party Group and Deputy Mayor of Changsha Municipal People’s Government, introduced that Changsha is the first city in China to obtain four national level licenses in the field of intelligent connected vehicles. Currently, 317 kilometers of urban test roads have been opened and it is applying for the national “vehicle road cloud integration” application pilot. Next, Changsha will accelerate local legislation, and the “Changsha Intelligent Connected Vehicle Development Promotion Regulations” have been passed for preliminary review; Further add 733 kilometers of urban open test roads, and achieve full opening of roads in Changsha urban area by 2026.

Academician Wang Yaonan led the team to conduct core algorithm research and key controller development around the key technologies of intelligent connected electric vehicles, helping China catch up with most countries and regions in the world in terms of development level. With the continuous breakthroughs in intelligence, networking, and electrification, the transformation from traditional cars to embodied intelligent cars has a bright prospect, but the task is arduous. The industry still needs to focus on the forefront, grasp the theoretical and technological needs of visual perception, machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions, connected vehicles, big data, etc., and gather and exert efforts in talent cultivation, industry collaboration, and other aspects to promote high-quality development and construction of the industry.

 

Development Status and Application Pilot Work Suggestions for Intelligent Connected Vehicle Vehicle Road Cloud Integration

 

Core viewpoint: Currently, the research and demonstration of vehicle road cloud integration in China is still in its early stages. The system is mainly based on single vehicle intelligence, and the vast majority of vehicle road cloud integration systems are still chimney shaped architectures, which are the two main reasons why networked intelligent driving has not yet formed a commercial closed loop. Academician Li Keqiang proposed that industry development should emphasize commercial closed loop and focus on pain point scenarios; Emphasize scientific design and unify system architecture; Emphasize cloud infrastructure and highlight cloud control applications; Emphasize multi-mode communication and leverage the advantages of network connectivity; Establish a technical system and emphasize standard specifications. And it is stated that smart buses, smart sanitation, and connected smart driving passenger cars are typical scenarios for commercial application of vehicle road cloud integration systems, which are worth further cultivation.

Zhang Wu pointed out that although commercial vehicle autonomous driving technology has made significant progress in recent years, there is still a certain gap between it and people’s expectations, and it still faces challenges in terms of technology, cost, and trust; Intelligent driving of commercial vehicles is a highly customized market, with scenarios being king and vertical implementation; Compared to passenger cars, commercial vehicles have a more urgent demand for autonomous driving technology and are considered the best path for the implementation of advanced autonomous driving. The commercial prospects are also more promising than passenger cars.
