Food safety has always been a social issue of great concern, yet it is difficult to completely resolve. In July of this year, the incident of “tanker trucks mixing the transportation of oils, directly loading edible oil after unloading coal-based oil” topped the Weibo hot search list, pushing food safety issues to the forefront of public concern once again, and for the first time, the specialized vehicles for the transportation of edible oil came into the public eye.

Edible oil safety and hygiene in transportation is a matter of legal regulations as well as regulatory technology.

From the current regulatory system, although the existing “GB/T30354-2013 Code for the Transportation of Bulk Edible Vegetable Oil” mentions that the transportation of bulk edible vegetable oil should use special vehicles and should not use non-edible vegetable oil tank trucks or containers for transportation. Before loading edible oil, it is necessary to carefully check whether the transportation container is a special container and whether the container is clean and dry. However, this standard is not mandatory and has limited binding force on edible oil manufacturers, and the supervision of the edible oil transportation link is relatively weak.

Therefore, from the perspective of regulatory policies and regulations, the government should introduce mandatory standards as soon as possible to include the transportation of bulk edible oil into the regulatory system. From the perspective of regulatory technology and facilities, it is also necessary to improve the corresponding technology and facilities to ensure that the vehicles for the transportation of bulk edible oil are “special”, “hygienic”, and “transparent”.

Recently, the “2024 National Road Transportation Edible Oil Tank Vehicle Technology Summit and CIMC&Shaanxi Automobile Integrated Edible Oil Transportation Tanker Launch” was held in Wuhu, Anhui. CIMC Vehicle Group, together with MingShang Technology, Shaanxi Automobile, and other industry chain partners, officially launched the “Industry Standard for Road Tank Vehicles for Edible Oil Transportation”, released the new integrated edible oil transportation tanker of CIMC&Shaanxi Automobile, and officially launched the “Edible Oil Transportation Tanker Monitoring Management System” platform.

As an important component of the “integrated edible oil transportation  tanker” project, MingShang Technology has upgraded the existing mature application of the Internet of Vehicles Intelligent regulatory platform for this purpose and has developed the “Edible Oil Transportation Tanker Monitoring Management System”, which integrates video collection, video storage, information upload, GPS positioning and other functions. The system can monitor the medium information and valve status in real-time, support video recording, and send location information to the regulatory platform (data is transmitted every 30 seconds), and will issue a voice warning if the vehicle deviates from the predetermined route or opens the manhole and oil discharge valve at non-loading and unloading points.

Based on the special functional design and development, the independent GPS positioning system matches the monitoring of valve opening and closing, liquid level monitoring, temperature monitoring and other functions, from the fleet to the regulatory department, it is possible to locate the tanker position and monitor driver behavior through GPS, thus eliminating the situation of mixing in the transportation of edible oil vehicles.

From receiving customer needs to product initiation, development and successful delivery of samples, MingShang Technology only took a short period of one month, and the agile response speed and high-quality delivery level won the praise of CIMC Group.
